Describing postpartum? It's hard to put into words.. Sleeping in the same nursing bra from the day before, dozing off with a pump running, managing tangled hair in another sloppy bun—ladies, you get it. I know the last thing I wanted to do a week into these trenches was... get out of the house and attempt to look pretty? HA.

I totally get it, especially if you're a mom-to-be juggling a lot, whether it's your first or not. That's why I always recommend considering an in-home session for your newborn photos. It's such a great choice because there's zero pressure to have everything picture-perfect.

Let me tell you about a recent session I had with Bob and Theresa, who by the way, is a total badass MD in pediatric neurology! I mean, talk about a #girlboss! We spent a couple hours together capturing precious moments with their adorable baby girl, Clara.

Here's a fun tidbit - the cozy blankie hugging little Clara's legs actually belonged to Bob when he was a baby! And the soft one she's resting on is Therea's! It was such a sweet touch to have keepsakes from both Mom and Dad during the photo session.

One of my favorite parts of a shoot is capturing the special details in a baby's nursery. I understand the effort and love that goes into creating that space, so it's always a priority for me to include those photos in the family's collection.

First, we snuggled up on Mom and Dad's bed. I tend to start further back, shooting wide, to give the family time to warm up to getting photos taken. But, they really make it look so easy!
